Purpose of the position:

To enhance World Vision Tanzania’s role in empowering communities to effectively demand for improved services on issues related to climate change and natural resources management through the Citizen Voice and Action Approach in SAUTI Projects. The CVA facilitator will report to the Project Coordinator will be based at the project field office

  1. Guide project planning and development of CVA activities for SAUTI Project
  • Take lead in training CVA team and implementing partners in CVA model
  • Monitoring of progress and achievements of CVA implementation project.
  • Facilitate community engagement on public policies, procedures and mechanism through community sensitization and dialogue meetings.
  • Work with AP staff during planning and budgeting for effective integration of CVA activities.
  • Ensure quality implementation of CVA activities within the project.Facilitate dialogue to service users/ providers and local government on improving climate change and natural management issues
  1. Mobilization of communities, local organizations and institutions to participate in CVA implementation and monitoring.

Facilitate proper formation of CVA working teams in line with the National office working team guidelines.

  • Mobilize Citizen Voice and Action working groups, local government officials and institutions to monitor social services delivery in their areas of jurisdiction
  • Mobilize government institutions and technical staff in the planning and implementation of CVA activities.
  1. Build local to national level partnerships, networks and coalitions with civil society organizations and local government institutions.
  • Facilitate networking with government institutions and other development partners within the Project area in planning and implementation of CVA activities.
  • Identify and nurture local partnerships with grassroots civil society organizations, Churches and sub county government.
  • Facilitate growth of strong local to national level movements on specific advocacy issues.
  • To strengthen the capacity of internal and external stakeholders in order to facilitate the CVA activities.
  • To spearhead linkages of local to National advocacy engagements and document best practices to leverage learning.

Business Development Officer Job at World vision Tanzania

Purpose of the position:

Under the direction of the Business Development Manager, the Business development Officer will support the efforts of World Vision Tanzania to develop and diversify its sources of funding, including local resource mobilization.

Program Development and Resource Acquisition

  • Working with Business Development Manager, SMT and Technical Leads identify funding opportunities from Support Offices, government donors, multilateral agencies and other donors.
  • Draft synopsis of funding opportunities to facilitate decision making on whether to pursue new grant and other external funding opportunities, including local institutions, high net worth individuals, FBOs and other local sources of income to be defined.
  • Support the development of concept papers and prepare proposals (including logical frameworks, draft budgets, budget narratives, and monitoring and evaluation plans) for Support Office (SO), government, private and multilateral donors, local institutions, high net worth individuals and FBOs.
  • Assist grant staff in preparation of annual operating plans and sector strategies and implementation plans.
  • Ensure adherence to Business Development Partnership Policies and Procedures
  • Relationship Management, Engagement and Networking, including local fundraising
  • Assist WVT in the development and strengthening of relationships with key stakeholders including Support Offices, donors (multilateral, government, foundations and private) and other international agencies, local institutions, high net worth individuals and FBOs
  • Work with the GAM team in the development of a marketing approach which will target local institutions, high net worth individuals and FBOs.
  • Ensure WVT programs provide opportunities for supporting the development of new alliances and collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain effective external and internal relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Conduct landscape assessment for local fundraising to identify local RM opportunities
  • Develop local fund-raising plan business process
  • Organize meetings with priority Local Fundraising contacts

Donor compliance

  • Ensure all grant-making processes are completed upon awarding of grants.
  • Support the Business Development manager to coordinate grant start-up workshop and process for new projects/programs with relevant stakeholders.
  • Together with Senior Officer Grant Compliance/SO representative/QA staff advice the CoP/Project manager on key donor compliance standards, including reporting, programmatic standards and M&E tools.
  • Participate in grant close-out for projects/programs.


  • Ensure full and timely compliance of the Business Development division on all required organizational dashboards and indicators.
  • Ensure effective and timely formal and informal reporting to SOs, donors and partners on GAM issues

Knowledge Management

  • Coordinate the implementation of Horizon 3.0 that will support the organization’s efforts to track information on project implementation, to store vital program documentation, and to gather and store information vital to communicating project impact and promote pro-active learning.
  • Participate in reviews and lesson learned exercises for grants as guided by WV policies and principles.

Minimum qualification requires

Degree in a relevant field from a recognized University. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in programming (designing, implementing, evaluating and monitoring) of integrated development, relief and/or advocacy of donor funded projects.

Purpose of the position:

To monitor the delivery, distribution, documentation and reporting associated with all commodities supported to refugees. Work hand in hand with relief committee members

Major Responsibilities:

Commodity management

  • Ensure that all commodities delivered at the FDP are properly accounted for.
  • Based on the approved distribution plan inform the relief committees on the quantities of food expected and ration scales.
  • Monitor commodity movements, including delivery of commodities at the FDP. Supervise receipt/offloading of food/nonfood commodities to ensure correctness of quantity, content and quality as per the waybill. Ascertain signatures on the waybills documents as well as losses and damages, and excesses. In case of damage arrange for reconstitution.
  • Oversee the distribution process in collaboration with the relief committees and ensure proper rations are distributed (sharing shelters). Ensure no damaged commodities are distributed to beneficiaries.
  • After distribution ensure empty containers are collected and accounted for

Liaison and beneficiary relations

  • Facilitate the community to get organized and with the help of the relief committees. The composition of the relief committees should include at least 50% of women.
  • Facilitate card checking process by the relief committees before distribution.
  • Assist community to solve problems related to the food distribution process
  • Coordinate and liaise with local authorities, NGOs and counterparts, provide information regarding beneficiary registration, commodity distribution, distribution plans,
  • Identify and recommend other needs such as health care, additional food needs, development activities, or any other rehabilitation and/or development activity.
  • Treat beneficiaries with respect and dignity.


  • Ensure documentation on commodity movements and distributions are properly maintained and submitted to distribution Centre supervisor
  • Scrutinize waybills, record underweight and lost quantities, if any.
  • Ensure proper documentation of reconstituted commodities.
  • Report on any incidences touching on security at the distribution centers.
  • Conduct training for the relief committees based on the food assistance program principles.
  • Submit report to each distribution cycle, which is gender segregated (obtained from group leaders)

  • Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Logistics/Supplies Management, Business Administration and/or Accounting, education and other social science studies.

Community Help Desk Jobs at World Vision Tanzania

  • Receiving, recording/documenting and responding to all complaints channeled via help desk
  • Engage into daily pre-address speech
  • Make a link between beneficiaries and Distribution staff.
  • Record all complaints and feedback received related to World Vision programs, commitments or conduct, this can include Food, GBV, security, Peace building & Child protection related issues.
  • Ensuring that, all complaints and feedback that are not food aid or cash aid are referred to the relevant sectors/organisation.
  • Provide a receipt for all complaints and feedback received.
  • Confirm beneficiary selection criteria and other program information provided by World Vision.
  • Pass non-sensitive feedback and complaints about World Vision’s activities to the WV authority.

  • Ensuring availability of help desk banners during operation/distribution.
  • Treating beneficiaries and agency staff with fairness, transparency and respectful manner at all times when working at the Help Desk.
  • Engaging the community in an appropriate and respectful manner, never raising false expectations.
  • Observing Humanitarian code of conduct (i.e Do no Harm) and operating procedures.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Preparing and submits weekly or monthly Progress reports.
